Indicators

The indicators are another name for the KPI Programme’s interactive data dashboards. There are currently six indicators: seclusion, wait times, seven-day follow up, continuity of care, whānau engagement and 28-day readmission.

Using PRIMHD data, information in the dashboards can be filtered by region, by service type or stream (adult, child and youth, NGO), by age, gender, ethnicity and other measures.

These are tools services can use to benchmark (compare) and track progress, gain insights from and then take action to improve services, with a goal of more equitable and positive outcomes for tāngata whai ora, whānau and communities.

How to use the indicator dashboards

Wait times

Explore how long people wait to be seen by mental health and addiction services. Better understand wait time to third in-scope activity, the most probable point for therapeutic intervention to occur.

Whānau engagement

Track how and when services are involving whānau in their loved one’s service journey.

View information that includes the frequency and duration of seclusion events in acute inpatient mental health services in Aotearoa New Zealand.
