What is the KPI Programme?

The Mental Health and Addiction Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Programme is a sector-informed and sector-led initiative that supports continuous quality improvement in mental health and addiction services across Aotearoa New Zealand through the practice of benchmarking.

We provide the people working in both inpatient and community settings with information about their services through six indicator dashboards, which can be used to benchmark (compare) and take action to drive continuous service improvement for tāngata whai ora, whānau, and communities.

This information that comes from the Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data (PRIMHD), a national dataset collected by services across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Programme also provides opportunities for kaimahi to connect with and learn from each other online in Benchmarking Breakouts and in person at benchmarking forums.

What is PRIMHD?

The Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data (PRIMHD) is a national dataset that has been collecting activity and service data since 2008. The data you collect and report in your service feeds into PRIMHD. Data is collected in PRIMHD using codes for settings and activity. Each activity you do with a person is recorded and submitted to PRIMHD.
